Brett Wagner and Sarah Gollner began their relationship with Wagner’s School of Music when, as children, each were enrolled as students and over the years have maintained a close connection with the family music school. 

When Brett began teaching at WSM in 2001, an innate ability to inspire the love of music in children began to emerge. In 2004, Brett and his childhood sweetheart, Sarah, realized what everyone else knew all along: they were created to be together. After dating for two years, Brett and Sarah were married.

When daughter, Neely, came along in 2010—followed by Mabel in 2013—they made the decision for Sarah to remain at home, raising and homeschooling their children.

As Brett assumed the role of Director of Development in 2017, the couple had no idea what God had in store for their family, but all became clear in 2019 when WSM’s founders, Larry and Janna Wagner, retired and sold the school to Brett and Sarah.

Building on the amazing musical legacy Larry and Janna created in the San Diego community, Brett and Sarah have been inspired from day one to make Wagner’s School of Music the most unique, fun, family-oriented, effective piano program in the country. With locations in La Mesa Liberty Station, and La Jolla, the Wagner’s hope to bring the joy of music to all of San Diego.
